Welcome To Newport Golf Club

The first Spring Fling Gala event will be held on Friday, May 19th at 6:00 P.M. The evening begins with cocktails, followed by dinner catered by our own Jeff Porter of Breaking Bread. Dinner will be followed by a short talk by George Sargent, a golf course architect who worked with Phil Wogan on the design of the Newport Golf Club 30 years ago. George also designed Montcalm Golf Club. Following George’s talk, Second Wind, Suzi Hastings and Terry Ray Gould will provide entertainment. Public is welcome.

Cradled in the heart of the Sugar River Valley, Newport Golf Club is the perfect destination for anyone vacationing or living in the Dartmouth–Lake Sunapee Region. Featured in NH Golf Magazine as a hidden gem only minutes away from Lake Sunapee Harbor, this par 71, Phil Wogan design, utilizes the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains, streams and ponds to perfectly frame the 18-holes built on 143 acres. The fertile soil, aided by the entwined Sugar River, supports growth of the plush bent grass greens, tees and fairways commonly referred to by many as the best in the entire region. Areas of the course were carved out of a forest of mature pine, hemlock, oak, maple, cherry and white birch, while other sections were built on open pastureland, giving the course layout a depth and variety best illustrated by the juxtaposition between the front and back 9 holes. As a result, Newport Golf Club offers a fine blend of risk and reward on a wide variety of holes to players of all abilities from beginner to the very low handicapper. If you’re looking for a challenging, yet affordable, round of golf in a picturesque setting, then Newport Golf Club is without a doubt the place to play.
